Fly fishing World Champion, Howard Croston will be appearing on the FF&FT stand at this year’s British Fly Fair International.

Howard, who managed to win the coveted title in Tasmania in late 2019 has written numerous articles on the tactics and flies he uses on rivers and stillwaters for FF&FT in the past, and he will be demonstrating flies and talking tactics on both days of the show.

He will join a record 95 exhibitors which have now booked for the Staffordshire show.

The range of exhibitors include instruction, travel, hooks, rods, equipment, fly fishing paraphernalia, tackle shops, flies, fly-tying materials, fly lines, cane rods, guiding, angling clubs, fisheries, clothing, charities, videos production, fly boxes, waders, vices and tools, antique tackle, pike and carp fly fishing, and, of course, co-sponsor, Fly Fishing and Fly Tying magazine.

The line-up of theatre demonstrations is currently being formulated, but Fly tying in Focus will include Barry Ord Clarke, Marvin Nolte – covering married wings on trout and salmon flies and Paul Monaghan detailing bucktail techniques for big streamers.

In the Fly Fair Forum, Stuart Crofts will be looking at the interactions between aquatic insects and humans; Stan Freyheit – from France – will give his talk: ‘French Nymphing the French Way’, and FF&FT Editor, Mark Bowler and Rob Smith are also due to give talks, with Mark Bowler’s focussing on accessing tropical flats fly fishing.
