Classic fly fishing venues feature heavily in the 160 lots for the Angling Trust’s online auction, which closes this weekend
Wild trout fishing on the Upper Itchen is one of the lots.
Make 2023 a very exciting year and visit a new venue! The Angling Trust auction closes this Sunday evening, with classic trout fly fishing up for auction within the lots. It offers the chance to fish waters that are not normally available, or opportunities for groups of rods to experience a new or exclusive water.
The Trust’s online auction features 160 lots, which have currently generated over £25,000 in bids, with the final bidding to come over the next few days. The lots include:
• A day’s wild trout fishing for two people on a private beat of the upper Itchen. Upstream dry fly fishing only. To be taken in August or September (guide price: £600).
• 1/2 days guided fly fishing / tuition for trout and grayling with a licensed Angling Trust game angling coach on Applewick Barden and Burnsall Angling Club waters in Wharfedale (guide price: £160).
• A day on the Wiltshire Avon, one of England’s top chalkstreams, fishing for wild trout (guide price: £1,000).
Amongst other lots are trout fishing on the river Darent (guide price £75); a day on the Nidd (£60); a week on the Ness for salmon and sea trout (£120); an Upper Clyde annual permit (£50); trout fishing in Suffolk (£60); an evening’s sea trout fishing at Chester-le-Street (£80); a day for two rods on the Monnow (£200); a day on the river Dove (£100); a day on the Wylye’s Wilton Club water (£150); trout and salmon fishing on the Cleddau in Pembrokeshire (£30); a day’s boat fishing with former Wales captain Emyr Lewis, on Llyn Gwyddior, (£100); an exclusive day for six rods on the Nadder at Hurdcott (£1300); a day for two rods on Derbyshire’s little river Ecclesbourne (£80); a day’s salmon fishing for three rods on the Test (£600); five days on Walthamstow reservoir (£150); one days for three rods at Carham, on the Tweed (£300) plus many more fly fishing lots.
