January Angling Trust auction attracting bids for new initiative

To celebrate 10 years of the Angling Trust and Fish Legal, an online and live auction is being conducted. The online silent auction launched on January 15, and will conclude on Tuesday, January 29 at 22.00 hours, after a fundraising dinner.

Anyone can place a bid on a range of lots which include chalkstream beats, sea trout fishing, fishing hotel breaks, salmon and trout fishing, bass trips, fishing kits, framed flies, reels, books, cane rods, coarse fishing, etc. In addition, there are some prime ‘live auction’ lots which will go under the hammer at a dinner held at Fishmongers’ Hall on the night of January 29. These lots includes chalkstream beats, Scottish trout fishing, and even tickets to see Paul Whitehouse in 'Only Fools & Horses - The Musical' and meet the keen angler, backstage, after the show.

Those not attending the dinner who would like to place a reserved bid on the live auction lots can do so by email  before 4.00 pm on Monday, January 28.

To date, the bidding has totalled £14,550 on the 125 lots listed, with four days bidding still to go.

The live auction on the night of the dinner will be conducted by Neil Freeman, from Angling Auctions.

All proceeds raised through the auctions will go directly to support Angling Trust and Fish Legal's part in a new joint initiative in 2019, with WWF and The Rivers Trust, to restore our freshwater ecosystems and fisheries to good health through a mix of advocacy, legal action and practical work on the ground.
