Hi Colin, pure coincidence that having just read about SWFF on the Costa Blanca in FF&FT; have just booked a week there. Only trouble is that it’s the last week in March, worth taking the fly fishing tackle or too early ?

Hi Greg.
Apologies but I have just noticed your post.
May is the earliest I have fished on the Costa Blanca and there were good numbers of fish present then.
Local fishers told me that fish are present all year round, with December the best month for large bass, when they come close to shore to feed on fry.
Choose a warm, settled day if you can and I am sure that there will be fish around the usual marks…...breakwaters and estuaries offer the best chance of sport.

Best of luck
Colin

Hi Greg and Colin,
I have been looking at the coast near to Huelva, south of Cadiz and wondering if this could be a good destination for a February trip. Some friends who spent Christmas in Nice reported lots o fry chasing bass and bass chasing fishers along the coast there. The weather in southern Spain is 16-18 degrees and I would imagine that the water is warm enough for fish to be active along the coastline?
Any advice on licences, since I read somewhere that a license is required to fish in the sea?

By the way I’d like to join you sometime on a Mullet trip around Chichester harbour.

John
