Tom J Boot - Boot Jack

By Magnus Angus

"Nicely shaped, smoothed and varnished."

Traditional design and materials.
Traditional design and materials.

Boot Jack sounds a little like an unusual crime, but no, a traditional way to pull off (muddy) boots. This is beech wood, other hardwoods are available. Place a foot on the hefty board, hook a heel in the fork and pull, change feet and repeat. Really aimed at wellies, riding boots and the like.

Traditional design, this example uses substantial planks of wood, nicely shaped, smoothed and varnished. Fitted with a leather loop so the Jack can hang out of the way until needed.
