No jokes please. Not seen this before, these have snips at the front and zinger at the back with a pair of finger pads in the middle. Take the Snip into my hand and push the finger pads forwards, the stubby blades open, squeeze to cut, pull the pads back a little and the blades stay closed.

These blades are short and strong, one blade is heavily serrated. Extremely tough stainless steel blades, for all sorts of monofilament plus braid – which at best ‘challenges’ ordinary snips of scissors and at worst blunts and even damages weaker blades. Cuts very well indeed and does cut braid cleanly.

The Snip seems like a very robust little tool, the case is chunky plastic held together with screws. Sits well in my hand, actually my fingers. The retractor/zinger has a tough fabric cord which runs smoothly from a fairly powerful spring. This tool wants to be picked up one way, I found I needed to find the right place to hang it, not hard given my wading jacket only has two D-rings.

Tough tool, very useful if you use braid or heavier monofilament.
